IIA has a variety of legal programs which we have developed and perfected over the years. Because of the demand for legal professionals, in 1995 we started building our relationships with facets of the legal community and developed our legal course curricula. At iia we are obligated to offer career choices which provide good employment opportunities to our graduates. Currently they include:
Legal Secretary
- 33 weeks; 28 credits
- Days: Monday - Thursday 8 AM to 12 PM
- Evenings: Monday - Thursday 6PM to 9:50 PM

The Legal Secretary Diploma program is designed to teach law office skills, basic legal knowledge, writing and research, and software applications. Graduates of the program will be prepared to begin working in law offices as legal secretaries.
Paralegal Studies
- 73 weeks, Monday - Thursday
- Days: 8 AM to 12 PM
- Evenings: 6 PM to 9:50 PM

- Associate of Arts Degree
Often called legal assistants, paralegals are an attorney's right arm. They interview clients, conduct investigations, assist the attorney in preparing for trials , hearings, closings and meetings. Paralegals also work for federal and local courts and other municipal agencies. Many corporations and other private firms also utilize a paralegal's skills in their legal departments.
Detention and Security

- Days: 8 AM to 12 PM

Today's correctional departments, detention facilities, private security firms and retail establishments require a highly trained candidate to provide the wide variety of skills necessary in today's modern, competitive detention and security environments.
As a detention specialist, you can maintain the security and supervise controlled environments in federal, county, state and city detention facilities. As a security specialist, retailers and other private companies would rely on you to help insure company profits, conduct background searches, control loss prevention and much more.
Justice Administration
- 66 weeks, Monday - Thursday
- Days: 8 AM to 12 PM
- Evenings: 6 PM to 9:50 PM

- Associate of the Arts Degree
There are multiple career choices available to the Criminal Justice degree holder. An AA degree in Justice Administration can be used as a stepping stone to careers as law enforcement officer, federal agent, private security officer, corrections or probation officer, forensic scientist, crime victim assistant and criminal investigator, to name a few.
