Medical Assistant

  • 30 weeks*, Monday - Thursday
  • Days: 8 AM to 12 PM
  • Evenings: 6PM to 9:50
  • Diploma Program

* Although classes are basically 1/2 days, it should be noted that the last 4 weeks of training are the externship program—actually working in a doctor's office or clinic. At that time, students are required to be available 40 hours per week, just as they would when working full time.

Medical Assistants perform a wide variety of duties in the doctor’s office. Your day could be filled with taking patients’ height, weight and blood pressure, sterilizing instruments, working with microscopes, preparing patients for exams, scheduling appointments and much more. If wearing a medical uniform and helping people make you feel happy, this field is for you. The proven hands-on approach and highly qualified instructors that iia has developed over 27 years will give you an edge with employment.

Patient Care Technician

  • 33 weeks*, Monday - Thursday
  • Days: 8 AM to 12 PM
  • Evenings: 6PM to 9:50 PM
  • Diploma Program

* Although classes are basically 1/2 days, it should be noted that part of the 33 weeks is a 6 -week externship program—actually working on the job. Students are required to be available 40 hours per week during these 6 weeks as they would normally be if working a full time job.

Care for patients in a variety of settings. Medical offices, hospitals, rehab centers and urgent care facilities need qualified, caring people to change dressings, prepare patients for transport, provide hygiene care, perform EKGs, phlebotomy and much more. Successful completion of the Patient Care Technician can lead to becoming a certified nursing assistant.
